VOW Wholesale is the UK's leading office products wholesaler, supporting over 4000 office product resellers in the UK and Ireland.

VOW has been producing a range of catalogues and mailers on behalf of the resellers for over 15 years, employing a studio of 10+ Creative Artworkers to produce the catalogue artwork, a Print Buyer and Publications Coordinator to manage the print buying, order process and distribution of the publications.

The VOW Marketing Team were hit with a reduced headcount and there was a severe lack of print production knowledge within the remaining team. Historically print had been purchased directly with a variety of manufacturers but had become more of an issue internally with being able to spec. jobs correctly and manage production and supplier queries and questions. They felt that they were incurring additional costs on jobs that were not needed and required some additional expertise to help guide and recommend options and best practices.

In addition to the challenges with lack of knowledge and expertise, the administration of managing thousands of unique orders was time hungry, managed via an outdated system which was due to be decommissioned due to the lack of IT support. This was resulting in manual processing and invoicing of up to 700 catalogue orders and 500 mailer orders per quarter.

  • Let me tell you that we have seen a huge difference compared to last year, from upload to approval in one week! It's excellent.

results that speak for themselves

Precision Proco proposed a fully managed solution to the table.

  • Year 1 - Focused on the main catalogue order and print buying process, bringing the client communication into the Precision Proco Client Services Team and the print buying into the Precision Proco Purchasing Team.
An initial fast-tech build allowed VOW customers to order publications via an online print portal and fully manage catalogue production and delivery.

  • Year 2 - Commissioned a fully automated online order system that allowed for automation of overprint of covers, further reducing production times, production schedules and administration.
