Tony’s Chocolonely is an impact company that makes chocolate. Putting social impact before profit — Tony’s Chocolonely’s vision is to make chocolate 100% slave free. Not just their own chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Tony’s story began in Amsterdam and the company has exploded into the confectionery world as the ultimate challenger brand.

Tony’s Chocolonely began to offer personalised wrappers via its online store in 2016, working with Dutch partner Wihabo. After proving successful the company looked for the next country to conquer, extending the offer to chocolate lovers in the UK.

Due to the complexity of Brexit, fulfilling the personalised orders from the Netherlands was no longer efficient, with orders being delayed at customs, costs increasing and Tony’s not being able to guarantee a service level for customers. Therefore, they were on the lookout for a UK partner and through the Dscoop network, Precision Proco was top of mind, due to an existing connection with Wihabo via the Dscoop network and our awareness of Tony’s personalised wrappers making us the perfect partner.

In order to continue the crucial supply to the UK market, the project needed more than competence in printed output. Precision Proco excelled in Tony’s expectations of a print partner, with our ability to deliver quality assurance, handle compliance issues around handling food and growth capacity.

  • Precision Proco are experts at what they do and can provide us with a complete print and fulfilment solution - from
high-quality personalised wrappers better. This reduces complexity and costs, enabling us to give our choco fans the best experience whilst maximising positive impact.

By utilising the HP Indigo 12000, we have the ability to print with up to six colours, allowing us to match nearly any colour possible, not only does this benefit Tony’s use of corporate colours, but also allows the customer full flexibility to satisfy their creative imagination.

Not only that, every item has to be tracked using a 5mm barcode unique to each order, the codes are scanned to ensure the correct flavour is matched with the correct order in the food secure handling area.

Each wrapper is printed, guillotined and linked to the right flavour, then using a dedicated machine is lovingly enclosed in an envelope style around each bar.

In true Precision Proco style, we excel at being able to control and handle thousands of orders a day using a bespoke blend of solutions and HP's SiteFlow Workflow technology to ensure 100% of orders are delivered 100% of the time, on time and in full!
